Davina's Big Project
I started this blog about a year and a half ago when I was on maternity leave with my daughter Elfie and I desperately craved a creative output. I am an artist and also teach art and I really missed having a place to share ideas and the things I make. I also wanted a platform to share my experience as a new mum and share images and stories of Elfie growing up.

At first the blog was really just designed to be shared with family and friends and was going to be just for my maternity leave. However, when I started my blog I soon realised the joy and satisfaction of blogging and the amazing network of talented bloggers out there and couldn't imagine ever stopping!

I now have another blog called The Making Home, in which I post only original content and I now use my tumblr more as a platform to share posts I like by others and things that I come across that inspire me.
I hope you find some ideas you can use to make your house a making home.

If you want to contact me you can email me on davina@davinadrummond.co.uk or tweet me@davinadrummond - I especially like to hear from people who have done any of my tutorials!

DIY: Chalkboard Label Jars
Buying a container of chalkboard paint was the best decision. I bought it so long ago ,and I’ve painted so many things. And I still have so much left!

I have liked Ella Robinson’s work for some time now since I saw it first at a Craft fair two or three years ago. Glad to find it here.

What I WANT from Cockpit Arts Deptford Open Studios!
Yesterday my friend Bridget and I went to the annual Christmas open studios at Cockpit Arts with the aim to buy some Christmas presents. Sadly, we both left empty handed as all our favourite things were way out of our budget or things that we wanted for ourselves! This was very frustrating - I hate going to craft/ designer maker fairs and not buying even a card…
Anyway these were my favourite things. I fell in love with Tamasyn Gambell prints a while back when I saw her fabric upholstered on beautiful mid-century furniture in Forest. And sadly I can’t remember who the beautiful woven blanket is by but I am trying to find out.   And I like Lorna Syson’s textile prints, they are fun and more affordable than the other two.
You may notice something in common with all of the them! I do like geometrical shapes and yellow.
